Chinese Rugs

These rugs have been around and high prized for practically forever. Chinese rugs are the most prestigious rugs available with enough colors and patterns to make them very versatile. Traditionally, Chinese rugs have always been made from either wool or silk but, today, less expensive more budget-pleasing materials are available such as polypropylene. Silk rugs have more knots per inch making them very luxurious and worth every penny. Chinese rugs generally come in three types—one-sided, medallion and an allover pattern. Medallion styles feature a large centerpiece, one-sided styles are just that, the pattern is just on one side, and all over has a pattern all over the rug—both sides. Sometimes Chinese rugs depict nature designs such as flowers, leaves, animals, insects and birds. Dragons are also popular items on these rugs. Chinese rugs defiantly make an interesting fashion statement in any room.
